couple of filters over eachover.. whats so special about it?
plus I don't think this kind of work belongs here, where's the concept art in it?
check the other threads, your stuff seems a little out of place...

The welder is my favourite. I like the smoke and how bight you got the welding flame. Only, maybe the emitted light should be reflected from the welder too?

do you have the sketches of these scanned before they were filtered.
they look like they were photos that were desaturated then heavilly contrasted then recoloured with transparent colours in photoshop, then spatter filtered and paint daubed and grained to reduce them to less photographic appearance.
if they are purely hand done before the filters were applied then your good at drawing tree branches and sparks, and the choice of highlight locations in certain places and weight and pose of the welder are very convincing.

id wondered about posting this reply and wrestled with wether or not i should,i dont wanna come off negative as i dont have the rite to crit anyone negativelly,BUT i thought id take a little wander over to googles image search and see what turned up for "welding" ................and look what i found on page 5 of the results.

oh - and incidentally to achieve your effect all you need to do i discovered is drop the brightness and up the contrast.

i suggest you rethink the phrase
"last three are pure hand, first had some photoshop filters"

the points that give it away are the highlight on
the welding picture underneath and to the right of the
torch head..
it makes no sense untill you see the photo, theres a plastic transparent tarp hanging there - and its a gloss specular from the weld light.
there have been 4 or five little sparks added - you can tell theyre aditional because they are in pure white and have a different configuration and no "blob" at the end where the pens been left a fraction too long on the tablet.
theres most likely been a paint daub filter put through it.
possibly some clean up on the smoke but i doubt it.
it took about 45 seconds to redo this in ps 5.5.
i dont condone posting images into others threads.
but thought this warranted an exception (radralfsnipe - if you feel i have acted out of turn mail me and ill be happy to edit this mail for you)

im not saying anything bad agaisnt the artist or photomanip,im just pointing out the facts ,and suggesting an edit of his wording.

Your point being?
He still tried to pass off a photomanip as a painting.

nah, you're getting ahead of yourself. He never tried to pass it as a painting, he just misinformed us (or he didn't know what he was talking about, pure hand could mean something else). These days, seeing this kind of "art" (if you can call it that) is common place on the internet and forums, so it's nothing to get all worked up about. Just notify a mod that the thread needs to be moved to a different part of the boards.
