Heyaz,

So it looks like im most likely going to get to show up. Since I remember the questions and stuff that came up during Texas here is some info about the area.

Art Stores:

There are three I know of in the area. I think The Academy of Art and Utrecht are the closest. Please feel free to chime in If I am wrong. The AA store is considered to be spendy by most people. Pearl is ok but further, the only thing is that the area is not that great so take some friends and don't go late.

Urecht Art Supplies(The AA store is right around here)
149 New Montgomery St.
San Francisco, CA 94105
(415) 777-6920

Pearl Art and Craft Supplies
969 Market St. 94103
Monday - Saturday: 10am-7pm,
Sunday: 12pm-6pm
415-357-1400

Also if you get a chance take a cab or the 38 geary bus to Japantown. There is a japanese book store called Kinokunyia that has some fun stuff.

Nightlife:
There are many drinking establishments in the area. Further up harrison and or mission. Hit me up for specific places that are not too yup. There are also places in North Beach (Very Touristy/Yuppie), the Mission (tapas and more), and various other areas. You can walk to a lot of places though from where the event is. Just make sure you are in a group or with large people late. Also as any other city right at 2 its impossible to get a cab and BART stops running around midnight.

Ill call around but there may be after hour warehouse parties in the area as well. Be careful around 6th and market and the street numbers going above late at night. A EA peep I met got mugged there and its supposidly ghetto (Ive never had a issue but I am a tall latino). If you are male and of age stay away from the adult establishments in the area. To the locals its a well known fact that the majority of them in this area are actually houses of ill repute.

Transportation:
Cabs, buses, walking, and BART (www.bart.org). Its pretty easy to get around.

Food:

There is the usual MC Ds and such around. If you want to eat cheap and good though there is the meatloaf sandwich from Lees Deli. There are a couple locations in the area. They are a good deli and cheap. I live off of this stuff for a while when I first moved to SF. Also if you like dim sum there is:

Yank Sing
One Rincon Center,
101 Spear St. (at Mission)
San Francisco, CA 94105
Tel: 415-957-9300

There is a place called Yank Sing express next to it as well. Super fast, more take out type, really good and good price as well.

There are more establishments in the area but feel free to look around.

More to come...

Utrecht is the closes one to the party. Yet you still have to walk bout 4-5 blocks to get there.

Besides the bookstore out in Japantown, there is a Comic/street art store called Super7 out there, contains a lot of schweeet stuff (myself just got "The Flight" from that store, Bengal-delicousness) AND next to that other bookstore lays the store where you purchase the popular High Techs Pens.

And for those of you that might wanna make last minute prints for pfolio-reviews there is a Kinkos close by.

Molly: Actually Im in LA. Not London at the moment. :) I lucked out at Sig and got a senior position with R!OT Pictures. Our parent company owns Rushes in SOHO(along with tons of other houses) so I am trying to get it so I can work there for a month during downtime. Either way ill be looking for people for work(3D, Matte Painters, Concept people) and for something I have on the side while I am there(well along with my goal of learning how to not suck with a pencil and paper). But lets all hit some bevvies in SF. I need some nights out after the work crazyness here.

Sam0s: Well its a short 4-5 blocks. I thought there was a Art store of some sort somewhere around Main before Market as well. I forget. They may have closed since I havent got any art supplies around there since the .com era.

Anyways I have a backlog of e-mails to bury myself out of since Ive been on a tight deadline for work the past couple of weeks.

CompUSA
Downtown San Francisco Superstore
Store # 254
750 Market Street
The Phelan Building
San Francisco, CA 94102

Main: (415) 391-9778 Fax: (415) 743-3298
Service Center: (415) 743-3275

Id call them. They carry Wacom products and I think the Academy of Art store does as well. Just make sure you know the size in inches. "A4 size" Im not too sure what the measurements are. I know that actual A4 size paper or printer paper isnt carried in most normal stores in the states though. We all use 8.5 x 11.
