2 big questions pleease help!

im drawing a picture of catherine zeta jones and she has these diamondy earrings. does anyone know how to draw diamonds,crystals,cut glass...etc. things of that nature. its extrememly difficult.

2nd question.
i've never really focused on drawing hair before. i could use some tips on how to make the hair look more realistic.

here' think of it this way, you're not drawing it out of your head, look at what you're drawing and copy it, make sure the contrast is great so it looks hard, like a diamond should, but other than that, just copy it.
i think ron lemen has a thread on drawing portraits, basically just blocking it all in and then start seperating, don't try to draw one strand at a time, that's a waste of time and doesn't look good.
