G'day, I've been using a very useful technique which is painting my line art in grey scale before I add colour to it to get the light, values and over all appearance great before colouring, the problem is im wondering if there are any tips for painting grey scale images.
So far iv'e put a layer on top of my grey scale and coloured that in the basic shapes and colour and set that to "Color" and that works quite well but it does let me use a variety of shades as they are controlled by my greay scale image. Can you help? :\

well I fined it useful to work the gray scale image up to a nearly finished level. Then to convert it to a color mode, spot color areas and appy the basic tones. I also can use hue saturation and color adjustments to add color with out losing my tonal rage and or picture contrast, I will also use overly or other layer modes. then using the brushes on a top layer to put in the finishing elements.
