Were you trying to post four more images? We can only see the large reclining nude figure.

Anatomically the shoulders on the figure look forced. Especially with the figure's left shoulder and how it joins- there's no clavicle! Neither side of the figure seem to have clavicles with any sort of clear definition.

The ring finger is also huge for the size of the hand. Comparatively it should not be the largest finger on the hand.

The white swashes coming down from the upper right to the lower left- if they are to be wind or rain indication, the hair is going against that direction. If they're not, they don't exactly help the figure any.

Hopefully these suggestions help out some. Keep going & don't stop trying.

Is it me or does this painting look eerily like a drawing by Kevin Llewellyn (found here: http://www.kevart.com/pages/draw_pg.html# leftmost image in the 2nd row)? If this isn't just a wacky coincidence, I would highly recommend giving him his due.

Aside from that, the figure here is not particularly well drawn... perspective and proportions are off. It appears to get shadow and highlight you're just mixing a midtone with black or white. Not the best way to go about it. Skin tones can be tough, but they're extremely important. I think you can probably find some tutorials in the "tips & tricks" forum. The cutting out of little areas around the top right doesn't work too well... jumps right out as not being original to the painting.

Despite it all, the work shows some promise. Keep at it and the only way you'll go is up.

Okay, I did click onto all of the images and one common thread I see through all of them is a lack of desire to draw hands. Don't skip out on drawing the hands! Next to the getting the facial likeness, I'd consider hands the most expressive of all body parts- they speak volumes!

You have to be able to draw hands sooner or later so I'd just dive in and draw them in a sketchbook. You've got a model right there next to you in your non-drawing hand (I'll assume you're not an amputee and my apologies if you are) so go at it and practice, practice, practice!

And not just open hands either. Notice how the fingers react to grasping objects. See the finger pads expand as they touch things. See the wrinkles on the knuckles. Look to see how nails are drawn. There is an entire myriad of things you can do to strengthen your hand drawings.

Hello DyingArmitage:

I have a feeling it might be more helpful for you to post just one or two recent pieces or even current works-in-progress (like maybe the hands you've been doing?). This will give the folks looking into your thread a good sampling of where you are with your skills. Which means they can more easily give you better, more focused crits and feedback.
