In regards to Photoshop

How long on average does it take you to photoshop airbrush an image and what kind of shortcuts do you use? I find myself really working this piece and I realize spending five hours on the face alone isn't really productive. Thankfully I'm not at the point where I'm detailing every hair, but I still dont have that kind of time to keep investing in one image that isn't even for money.

Depends. My recent photoshop rendering project took me probably 7 hours but its just a small swiss army knife and not a portrait. Some folks take forever, but I guess most folks I know complete their stuff in 12 hours or less (total working time).


It also depends on how you use the tools available to you and how fast (ram rich) your system is. Like if you use paths to block out major shapes it may be easier to color....if you don;t like to use layers or history states, you may find it hard to make adjustments and corrections when you make a mistake.


Keyboard shortkeys are a must to work fast :D
