With all the warriors sent to the battle of Ragnarok, Valhalla now stands empty, except for various unwanted relics lying about, and a strong scent of sweat and beer. How long it has stood like this cannot be measured and no one knows if it will ever be occupied again.

Ok, so I know this is late but I dont get home from school until 5 and I don't have the internet to check the dsg forums while I'm on the trains and busses. I barely have time to draw so when I get the chance here I am :confident . This is more of a pile of scribbles than a sketch but perhaps later on i'll put more time into a new version. I just sat there with a sharpee for a few minutes. Whole thing took about half an hour including the walking around to scan, rendering and waiting for things to load as well as realizing the first version was a ridiculously huge size and fixing it. So actual art may have been 11 minutes. I'll try to manage more than just a few scribbles later on, I didn't even have time to make clouds so I put the bootleg auto rendered ones below the palace.

Payback : composition is kind of plain , and the blue is too saturated imo

goran : the second one is quite nice, I dont understand the first one though, if thats a castle up on there, how does anyone get in our out

hamata : my glasses , I cant find my glasses! , that level of blur would be fine from about the green flag and back, if it was more crisp in the foreground it would add a nice sense of depth

Hunger_Artist: pretty cool but kind of confusing, its hard to tell that the golden trees? outside are in the background they are so bright,

Kexe:if the flags were more refined it would add alot to the picture, they are a focal point and kind of underworked

lordofhjoerring : its not a bad start the background looks like its almost there, if you went in and highlighted some detail on the castle to bring it out of thoes midtone colors i think your eyes would skpi right past the rushed grass and into the details

Hamsta : 2: the figure sitting ontop of the ruined building seems kind of huge compared to the building , from the looks of it, Im not sure if he could walk in it without ducking down,

Random Chaos: the lense flares dont help it, trust me

just trying to be honest sorry if I offend anyone...

I'm really into putting giant statues in with my cities (see the "cloud city" thread..) Valhalla, heaven for the heroic. The ancient city built out of a mountian, it's giant warrior statue keeping an eternal vigil for the valiant...
Or something like that..:)
Anyway, here it is...

hey guys, a topic with interest i see.

payback: i like your lanturns, the light from them was done very well. you just need to spend a little more time getting the structure right . maybe desaturate it a smidge, its a little blue! :)

goran: of course you always bring the heat. your first one is weak at best, the shape is nice but it doesnt strike me as much. Your second attemp is awesome. I find the nazis facinating because they were nuts. your second pic is aesome, i cant help but admire the detail, the ropes, trucks, and stones are great! u should have spend about 4 more minutes fixing the snow on the cliffs tho ;).

hamsta: i dont know what to say. i know with your pics there is always a story to read, but before i decide to read it i want to be able to look at the picture and have a general idea of what went on. This dsg of yours is quite bluring and hard to make out, the sword has a nice shape. Maybe try to work on your edges and try to make them sharper. look at the ceiling of your wall and try to copy how the ceiling and wall connect. Your second attempt is much nicer.

hunger artist: i like the detail, the shapes and general scratchyness are nice. the only thing that confuses me is the yellow. it needs a bit more time spent on it.

lordofhjoerring: please dont say that, it makes u look bad. i persoonally think its a great sketch. the grass is fine because it looks like the wind is caring it.but goran might have something by making it flow.

sterling crispin : i think i like it, its too saturated to make out, looks like a photo that was oversaturated.

Sunny-you are so right for the snow ,thanks man.Like that indication of glittering snow in yours, shape of the valhala is cool, only that pine tree in the foreground should be more defined ,you know ,snow on the branch.

I'm not even going to comment on my first piece, it is just blah... I obviously need more processing time.
The second dose'nt have any figure in it, that's an ornament above the door way (I think) although the shadows on the ground make a nice bearded guy (totaly random I assure you) That long house is soooo out of perspective though :)
