Artist from other countries.

Hey guys, first post and also first question :)

I was talking to a friend the other day and he said that i should go to Japan and hire artist there instead of looking for artist online. He said alot of artist in Japan will work for 20 dollar a page or even lower (full color) and its not even Japan, its China and many other contries.

That leads me to this question, why not just go to Japan and hire artist if you want some work done? i know a few big company that does that. If this is the case in the future, are we in trouble? since companies can just go to a poor countries and hire artist that will work for food. What are you guys view on this?

japan is hardly poor and i think you may be right in that alot of work is being out sourced to places like india especially in animation right now, its hard to say whether we will be in trouble, possibly but if you are good you can get work.
