wow very nice, I love the mark making and semi-transparent colouring. Does anyone know if this was done in painter and what brushes were used?

Nice bit of artwork there, no idea what it is, but lovely jubbly anyway, wish I was going! But... the text just doesn't do justice the nice artwork on the page. Imo, I would enlarge the header, and have it spread horizontally over the whole width of the page to look nice and chunky. The copy for the quotes is also in a font which I feel is too thin and slightly unreadable over the dark background in some parts, it needs more imapct. Also, the bit where it says "the gathering" is hardly noticable, maybe just up the brightness a wee bit, or add a light stroke to it or something?
Anyway, just a few observations, not nitpicking, just saying what I would do if it were me. Hope it all goes well, cant wait to see the feckin photos n posts from the event:D!
Peace

Awesome, movie style poster. I second the opinion about mirroring, tweaking it it a bit, or maybe even making it asymmetrical could work better.
Is there going to be a workshop next year?
I really want to attend next time...

I was wondering who's art that was. It actually makes me sleep better knowing that two peeps worked on it!

"You need to get off your lazy ass and fucking draw"
Thats a classic. Its what every art teacher all around the globe should repeat to their students, OVER and OVER again.
That being said, I feel like there`s a combined effort from all the great artists on this site to rub salt in my gaping I`m-not-going-to-the-workshop-wounds.
Thanx a million! :(

thanks guys, im glad you like the poster, I agree with the mirrioring comments, with future experiments i will explore more asymmetrical design
this image was painted completely in painter 9 using lots of different pens but predominantely the new artist oils brush set.
