Excellent technique, excellent sketches. Though i think there is something wrong with the first one's neck, but that might just be me. Show us more!

Thanx Twisted nail. Yeah , i was leaning to one side, that's why the neck is a bit weird :bashful: I see u also live in Belgium, where exactly are u from?

Hmm, these are pretty freaking great! Especially the second one--the luminosity is quite accurate!
It's a very painterly use of the ballpoint pen. I would like to see more works done with this approach.

Cheers,
David

Ey, pretty cool. The first one reminds me of a Van Gogh sketch :confident

nice ball point pen work, I've been trying to figure out the art of BPpen, I've been looking for brown ink which is almost impossible I know of only one brand, I've also been playing around with some pens that a friend of mine in Japan sent me that are super fine. .05 I believe, they make a huge difference if you can get your hands on them, I also have some pens from Korea that are super fine points as well that I got from a good painter buddy of mine here in NYC. Nice work, my only crit would be to stay away from blue ink, sort of reminds me too much of my High School notebooks, not the quality of your drawing, just the color. I have some ear studies I did in BPpen that I can post here if you would like to see them, but I don't want to detract from your thread. Looks great.

Wow! haha ! Thanks for digging that up from under the dust mohd al mahdi ! Jezus I forgot I posted that. 2004 lol

It's weird seeing that stuff again.

Anyway, David thanks for your comment man. Feel free to post the drawings in here. Mohd already did so...
I'd be keen on seeing how you deal with the medium. Haven't touched it myself in years. Probably those were the last time, :)

Nice work! I like the ball point pen work. I have a hard time keeping it from smearing and globbing. James Jean does some incredible pen work. I've seen David's ear studies in ball point. Absolutely mind blowing!:xpld:

LOL I never look on the dates of these things.

Thanks Mark,

I wonder if the sketches are still on my server???
kewl found em. these are maybe a year old.
larger than actual size. Ball point is really fun to play with, My wife thought I was crazy when I started trying out more studies with it, usually she says that to anything I do that isn't an actual painting. Thinks I get distracted too easily, she is so right, but its fun to try out new stuff.

Cool, thanks for posting David. Nice sculptural feel

It's funny to see how little knowledge I had of light back then. Just separating darks from light. Haha so flat.

I hear ya, I think back to my work from the end of 04, I've grown by leaps since then.
