Due to be published in December 2004, "Hunter Killer" comes from topcow.com and this is a version of one of the alternate covers. Steve Firchow, the original colourist, sent me the lineart to have a play with (isn't he a nice guy!..?)
Learning experiences here include altering the lineart for the first time away from the standard black and white and using a second inks layer for the DNA strand as an overlay. I used the outer glow effect here a lot for a change and the explosion effect in bottom left I did using flamingpear.com's 'solarcell' plugin which was copied a few times and various different modes set on the new layers.
Steve sent me the J Scott Campbell pinup for Hunter Killer as well!...(woohoo!)
