This is the Yellow Mother, Shaman to the Kawani. Yellow is a sacred color to the Kawani and the Mother can control the sun, dry vegetation, yellow flowers and sand storms.
Painter 30 min or so

Thanks guys, practice makes perfect right?
Also depends on what I'm trying on a particular day, still lots of fooling around.
For example, after yesterday I decided to keep colored pencils to still life.

Not a bad turnout today guys, except for you simmi, you pussy :tihi: :teeth:

Goran ? Do you dress up Poser® models and other 3D stuff or is that actual drawing/painting ?
I'm no expert so please don't see this as an insult, but rather my stupidity ;)

Goran, she looks cross-eyed to me... does anyone else see it or am I alone?

Good work though (fellow torontonian).

Hamsta: Excellent job! This is some of our best work yet. And as always, great description.

Atreyu: Beautiful realistic apporach to the topic.

I'm desperately trying to be a regular, but classwork is eating up too much of my time. To all those who ARE dedicated, though, keep it up! It's always great to see the varied interpritations of a consistent group of artists. I get so sad when the DSG drops into obscurity.

Mercapto-I used some photo reference, more old comic book.It was done in painter with lot’s of glow effect
on her face. Glow was also used for that shiny insignias.her dress is some free texture
Atreyu-thanks man, like your stuff
SaliLdVaEnR-She is in trance man. Too much beer.

Atreyu, beautiful feeling in the face. Very gestural and sombre. Feel the earth run through her

Goran, very nice feel of hues, I like the intensity.

Simmi, very cool in it's own right ;p

The face on the left one.. well it wasn't going well from the beginning but long story short I ended up overworking it, the paper started to fall apart, and basically, it looks better this way :nohope: . Too bad I was really likeing how this one turned out. Nice work everyone, it's cool too see all the different interpritations of the same topic.

I hope this image doesn't get my photobucket account closed down but I like it and so I'm posting it. I have no idea how strict their rules are over anatomy and stuff and if necessary, I can put some animal skins on her so who cares anyway.

Goran: awesome colors (and I dig the crazy eye too)
Hamsta: much improved!
Rasdasa: very cool but her head seems to float low instead of as if it were actually attached by a neck. Also, the file size is large for a pencil drawing, please be kind to my dial-up connection and compress the next one ;)
Atreyu: dang that's a good picture! Is it based on a photo reference?

dagreengo, thank you. Was trying for something dramaticaly ritualistic.

Commander Obvious. Thanks for the crits, can't argue about them since I agree with you, but by the time I had realized it while sketching it was too late *sigh* it was all ballpoint so no erasing. Besides, I hate erasing! Sorry about the file size, I promise to work it down next time.

or do people just like to ignore me??? gg

anyone could ask the same question toward you, if you dont post critique , dont expect it back in my opinion,

i want critiques so everytime i post, i try to say something about everyones work, i think more people should do this

sorry if that seems harsh.. but I dont think it is

Sunny
December 6th, 2004, 02:02 AM
Im bad for that, I dont like to critique a lot of the time mainly because I like people to make their own style of art and I am not one to tell them what to do. But I agree that I would like people to post about mine so if I want that it would make sense to critique others. We are all developing at our own pace and my critiqueing might seem harsh hehe but you will get used to it!!! :D
