This is a 1/7 scale sculpt that I did .
it was sculpted in grey super scupley and the hands were sculpted in wax.
It was a real challenge to capture the likeness at this small scale.

It's good to push your self when you are feeling fat and sassy, that way you grow.

For the scale I tend to make my hands too big in super sculpey.
With wax I don't use an armature and can get really small thin fingers.
I am know that there are more skilled sculptors out there that could sculpt small realistic hands in super sculpey, I have alot to learn.

With the wax, I can get super detailed and can hold the hands in my hand.
I have very warm hands and it turns the super sculpey into bubble gum.
I love super scupley, I think that it is the best sculpting medium .
I do however sculpt in castiline about 20% of the time and I still have alot to learn there but I do se the huge benifits of wax.
But for flow and expression, give me good old super sculpey cut with black and white fimo and I am a happy boy!

Wow, this is great! Is this a commissioned piece, or just for yourself? The whole thing has a gestural flow to it, i especially like the positioning of his right hand. Aweshummm

Thanks Cotron.
I really think that being both painter and sculptor has helped me alot.
I did this just for myself and the owner from Dark Carnival kits saw it and
bought the rights to produce it as a resin kit.

So it worked out fine, I got to pratice my sculpting and I got a few bucks for the kitty!
As for the gestural flow of the sculpt, I think that when you confine your self to the extreme poses you are limited in what you can do.
There can be power in subtle movements, I learned this in martial arts.
