The sword on HIS right arm is too short (unless its meant to be that way) compared to the one behind his back. If its supposed to point away from the viewer, then the perspective needs tweaked. HIS left upper arm is a bit too long, maybe if you lower the shoulder a little it should be fine. Other than that, I wouldn't mess with this guy.

Oh, and he needs a haircut.;)

I'm assuming the blade in front is a wakizashi or tanto, in which case the length is fine. My only crits would be his left (front) wrist is broken (it looks like it's 90 degrees, you really can only bend it about 60) and his fingers need a bit more attention. If you have time, you might also want to compress his feet more to give the impression of weight, and add some highlights to his hair.

Overall it's nice though. I like your pose and the way you rendered it.

I think his whole right hand + wakizashi are weird. I don't "feel 3D-ness" specially on the hand.

Other than that it's very nice. Though I think he deserves a finepainting. :D
And he DOES NOT NEED a haircut. ;)

I agree that the hand is at a liiitle too strong of an angle to look real and I agree that his feet dont carry enough weight on them. I think that his crotch area needs a bit more shadowing or saturation and the muscles under his right arm look as if his torso is being viewed from the side and not a frontal view. Aaaaalso the bottom right cuff of his shirt needs a black border :D

Hah I love this painting! The style looks inspired by the anime Samurai Deeper Kyo. I also liked your Devil may Cry painting. Finish this one and show us please :chug:
