View Full Version : Brush & ink lifedrawing

Well I'm new to this 'medium'. I'm using regular black ink and a brush taht's not really suited for this I think, I've seen some students using some kind of brown ink though.

I love it, it's great to be free of line. I find it stressful to draw with lines because I always want to get something 'right' and I get stuck with details and contour, often times at the expense of proportions. With the brush I'm more focused on shapes and values. I find it more relaxing also.

They are A3 format, stitched together in Photoshop.

I purposely flattened the perspective in that last one, maybe inspired by Lucian Freud somewhat... didnt get the effect I wanted though.

Any advice or critique is welcome. I'd like to know where I could go with this ?
