yeah.. clueless.
I'm looking to start a career in concept art at some point in time, however, I have no idea wher to even begin. I was a compsci major student before I dropped out.
I think the first step should be plenty discussion for now. What kind of education should I have to capture myself a job in this business? I really have no idea. I have postulated that perhaps a portfolio would suffice... but then I find myself asking what I would put in a portfolio. I am a terrible self-salesman. yargh, back to the first question. What am I looking for in an art school? do I want a 4 year university degree? What about those solely art schools that offer only 2 year curriculums? Are they reputable?
If anyone knows of a particular school worth attending in the dallas or austin, texas area that would be super helpful.
my junk (http://skullgun.com/scans/)
Perhaps that would aid some suggestions. I have done a little bit of painting, but I found it excruciatingly slow. Particularly since I had no particular guidance aside from trial and error. I do not particularly like the color jobs in there. They were done with photoshop because that's what I have. I am terribly unprofessional. I do not know where to begin. I am rambling. BLAH BLAH BLAH SAVE ME FROM DELIVERING PIZZAS.
