Well, I figured its time to start a sketch book.. Every other day I will be posting my new sketches.... These first sketches are from my new sketch book that I started over the weekend... Some are still life sketches from the MET others are thumbs and figures for a mural that Im doing in my friends loft. I will also be posting my WIP's here.... I really like the gesture studies. Congrats on starting the new thread. I'm looking forward to seeing frequent posts.

By the way, I noticed that in the gestures you're neglecting the feet. Ya gotta give em some grounding so that you can wrap your brain around the center of gravity etc.

I like your sketches, exspecially the gestures.
Maybe you could show your reference for that last one? I really like the rendereing - but something concerning anatomy - I think it's the right -arm/shoulder (on a too deep level maybe?) and the jacket he is wearing seems confusing..

Wow I love that rendering. Just gotta get the forms right in ya drawings. Study anatomy a lot and you'll have that fixed up very nice.

Yeah! The rendering on the last one kicks ass!
One thing I kinda spotted (might be intentional, so ignore at will), apart from the other comments here, was the highlight on the visor.. is it supposed to blot out the eye like that? First thing when I saw it, I wondered if one eye was missing...

Keep doing gestures, they help a lot!

Oh yeah..and keep updating!!!

Dude, gimme the challenge and I'll be there, I don't know about the rest of the guys, but I'll be there.

By the way, the things that I like most on here is your soldier and egyptian studies. Good stuff man, though my only crit is make some of your faces a little longer. They seem kind of scrunched up, you got the bodies down awesome, just a few heads bother me though.

I'm all for the challenge, school just started and I just got back in the drawing groove like crazy.

Hey, Ian.. Thanks for the kind words.. I noticed lately that I have been catching some mistakes just by continuing to work out the poses and be patient. Looking at the pics from the Cali workshop made me so jealous that I couldnt make it.. But, its going to make me get a better skecth book going for the next one that I will def. attend.. Hopefully, its no in Europe somewhere... NYC would be great!!!! Thanks for the view again..

You've got some nice stuff here, man. Just keep it up. Work from life as often as you can. Those and anatomy studies. You'll be amazed how far they can take your imagination type work. You really like those turntable chicks, eh?
