I havent posted work here in 47 years.

Here's some new stuff.

The purpose of these images is to represent something you dont quite understand. The object in the drawing has a functionality that is in question. Different people see different things inside the drawings. Hold it upsidedown and one might see something completely new. The drawings are made on purpose to contain something familier, but you cant quite figure it out. These abstract mechanical shapes have been a slow developing personal style over some time. Recently I started to go somewhere with it.

One of my personal goals has always been to have a sketchbook with a consistant theme. I am tired of sketchbooks that have X's though bad drawings, and doodles that dont match a certain level of quality. So I've started one dedicated to Abstramechanics. Heres the progress so far.

I've noticed myself a considerable difference since I started. :)

And Here are some abstract organic shapes. I had drawn these before the mechcanical drawings. I was always facinated by slimy creatures stuck in bottles of Fermaldihyde. You couldnt quite make things out sometimes. So I took that idea and developed a personal style in organics. I haven't drawn any of these recently but here they are anyway.

Wow. You sure developed an awesome style! & thanx for posting after 47 years :yayca:

I love that roughness in your work, but what i'm missing are some very clean rendered pencil pieces that take up some more time. But that's just my personal preference. I have no crits.

Really great stuff! You render the various planes of the shapes quite well. The thicker outlines really help to define the shapes and pop it from the background.

It is also nice seeing the progression and how much you improved over the span of the skechbook.

I will agree with RAMON, some tightily rendered drawings would be nice.

I'm going to draw now until I pass out. Thanks for the inspiration.

thanks Ramon, I'd like to take one of these to Photoshop and color it, make it look all nice and final.

Thanks also Shoe, I'll take both of your guys advice soon and do just that. Make a more final looking one.

the organic stuff is what made me want to sleep with you. the abstramechanics stuff made me want to, like.. get your autograph, or get your face on a tshirt, but those organic ones made me decide you're the right man to father my children. i shall name them all Ted #.

kidding aside, that's good stuff. you're a polycounter too! get some folks over there to model these. i'd die if i saw a rotating, 3-dementianal gif of your organic stuff... eek.

they're already 3-dimensional enough as is with consistent lighting, i thing that woud translate well to 3d. do it. get down. make love.
