Hey, ya'll!

Just finished this the other day in Painter 7. I've got a whole series of cartooned old people that I wanna do, eventually making it into a children's book for submission. I find old people fascinating, simply because they seem so much a culture of their own--they've got their own clothing style, hair style, loose skin, big glasses. Completely fascinating! Anyways, even though it's not true fantasy art, it's still an exaggeration of reality!;)

I like the granny pic alot... You can see how much fun you had with it. Ive never used Painter 7 or done any kind of digital painting except cliche photoshop stuff but it looks good especially the colors on the coach and background. The only thing that bothers me is the composition. The image is centered and makes for a less interesting layout. Its just screaming for some forced perspective or closeups or croppings. Hmmmm, taking another glance at it just now i see how much sharper and crisper the top of her head is in contrast to the rest of the image. It makes her head pop out more than the rest. Some play could have been done with that. Nice job over all!

"... only thing that bothers me is the composition."

Yeah, I can understand about the composition. I was going for that 'Portrait' look to the piece. Other pieces for the book will be much more dynamic.

"....i see how much sharper and crisper the top of her head is in contrast to the rest of the image."

I agree with that, too. I think I'll go back and add more contrast to the rest of the body.
