:o H everybody
I canīt believe I am posting in this forum: you are all soooo good...I have been checking the threads for months trying to find courage to post: I am only a begginer struggling to achieve something "lookable".
This is the product of a 25 minute pose from my life drawing class. Please let me know what I can do to improve
Thank you so much

That is a very good drawing. I like the kind of marks you've used, they are nice and simple and tell us what we need to know about the light and shadow. Good drawing! Hope to see more from you.

I like the way it looks also, but I'm not sure if the overlapping, due to perspective is correct? It might be, but its a bit iffy to me. Great and unique way to put down those lines. I can tell that they were put down with confidence. The glutes look a bit squared off as well.
Don't hesitate to post more. Good Job.
Just remember to draw daily and practice a lot.;)

hey Arcanjo
Congrats on summoning the courage to post a drawing...that's part of the growth process, you know - to face those that might only offer a comment such as "is this guy serious?"
There is much to like in your drawing. You've avoided a lot of the usual pitfalls; you haven't obsessed with outlines or conceptual interpretations (a good example of this is the hair - many artists draw it conceptually, meaning that they follow their concept of hair and draw lots of lines, instead of using their eyes and seeing the form of the hair in its entirety). And this type of pose is pretty high on the difficulty scale, with all the foreshortening.
That said, it seems that a better understanding of your subject would serve you well. The hands are one of the toughest parts of the human form to draw well. Fortunately, most of us have at least one to study. I would take a close look at your own hands, and while you're at it, see what others have written about rendering hands. Spending some time doing quick hand studies can be very worthwhile.
Your forms are appealing, but they look a bit too simplified. That can be a tough call, because there are so many historically great artists that desire form and/or visual interest over accuracy, but those artists usually have a long history showing that they know the human form before they embark on taking such liberties. Again, I would study some anatomy so that your curves can take on some intelligence. Instead of two generalized curves to describe a forearm, you will then be able to imply the muscles of the forearm with your lines - every subtle nuance can carry a lot of meaning.
All in all, a great start...hope you press on!

I think you're all a bunch of goddamn hippies!!! Where are the good ol'days when an aspiring artist was NOTHING and his master wrote his own signature on his students' work?
Nah just kidding! :D I LOVE Concepart.org. Here, have a flower. :flower: Peace man.
Arcanjo> I wish I was so sure in drawing models as you are. I tend too 'over obsess' on my outlines, like stated earlier. What 'd you use for highlights? I usually use 'conté crayons' as we call them here, but your highlights seem more fluid, guache maybe?

Cannibal80: Thanks for stopping and commenting. I am not afraid of making mistakes if ī'll be able to learn from them... for that I need all the help I can get...I need people to point out all the weak parts ... it is not easy to learn by myself...~
For the highlights I used chack...
