At the Austin workshop we discovered the work of Insane Visions. Massive Black Inc. hired him on the spot. Will you be next?

Sharpen those skills, churn out your demo reels and polish your portfolios, the time to apply is coming soon.

As some of you may know from the Workshops and here on conceptart.org, Massive Black has reached it's goals of working with many of the top game developers and publishers in the industry. This comment is not to brag but to let everyone know that Jason Manley, Smellybug (Petey Konig) Justin Kaufman (Coro), Edward Quintero and myself (Travis Bourbeau) will be collaboratively reviewing portfolios and demo reels at the workshop for a host of cool projects.

Massive Black is to hire for all artist positions. These include:Concept Design and Painting/ 3-d Modeling / 3DAnimation (in game and cinematic/film) as well as Texture Painting positions.

By the time the workshop rolls around, Massive Black Inc. will have been moved to their shiny new offices in downtown San Francisco.

New MB san fran crew members include Wes9000 and Insane Visions, both of whom have become well known in the field and on the boards here. Other artists we work with include talented guys like Noxizmad, Marko Djurdjevic, Alessandro Baldasseroni, and many others.

Q. Who should you attack at the workshop during the Monday Portfolio Day?

A. Concepts and Animation (Animation in Max) Grab Coro and Petey's attention.

A. Textures - Edward Quinterro and Jason Manley

A. Modeling - Travis Bourbeau and Jason Manley

Just visit the MB tables on the final day of the workshop and show off your skills. Please bring resumes/biz cards, sample portfolios, demo reels on cd/dvd, and other approrpiate art related to the position you wish to apply for.

The MB crew will make decisions on who to hire after we all have the chance to review and go over your work. If one of us is not available just hit up whomever is free. We want to be sure to see your work on Monday's portfolio day.

I wont speak for Jason and the rest of the crew but I can say that the number one and two qualities I am looking for in an artist is consistency and dependability. If your'e not dedicated don’t apply. Every artist at Massive Black is there because they love what they do with a passion. Please look at the work on www.massiveblack.com. If you think you can run with that crew then we want to hear from you!

Positions will be filled following the big portfolio review on Jan 10 at the workshop.

Positions are paid.

Equiptment and software is provided.

Great projects are also provided.

The positions are in house, but at times we will work on a freelance level with the right person.

The rest of the stuff we can go over at the workshop.

Salary and details will be discussed at the appropriate time. Check the workshop forums at www.conceptart.org/forums for details on the workshop.

Looking forward to seeing you all there

Hi Intern, I look forward to seeing you at the workshop!

The reason for max is that we aready are stafffed with guys coming from movies working in Maya and the lionshare of our work is in games. At this point most of the studios we are working with are using Max;)

another reason to draw like mad :) though I doubt I'd land a job at MB, this is still very fucking cool and a really good motivator.

So as far as animation goes are you looking for "only" Max animators or just fantastic animators in general? I would think most people who can animate reallly well should be able to get comfortable (at least in respect to animating) with any 3d package in a matter of days.

Cool to hear that there is so much hiring going on, makes a great event even greater!

Incredibly inspiring, and equally depressing, given the competition. My only hope is 3D :P
