Hello Everyone,
Here's some pics of my 1st real sculpture. What do u guys think of it? Any ideas to make it better? Tear me apart!!!!
He's my own concept, he's supposed to be some type of viscious monster from the Roman times. I want to add armor, but probably will save that for the next piece I do. I just kinda wanted to dab in Super Sculpley and see how far I can get.....anatomically. Thanks.

Hey, checked out your sculpture.
Overall, VERY impressive. Is it cooked yet? The front looks REALLY good--great expression, great anatomy. I'd suggest focusing a little more on the back. It's okay, but I can tell you didn't spend as much time on it as the front.
Also, the thing that' detracting from this piece a lot is the ball of the morning star. If it's cooked already, I'd suggest taking a thin file and carefully sanding the corners, so that it's got the same polished and chisseled look the rest of your piece has. If it's not cooked, spend some more time on making the ball have real sharp points and a real solid look to it.
But, to reiterate, overall, VERY good! Really love the pose and expression of the guy! Can't wait to see some more!

crap man... beautiful work~ i love everything about it, except the head. the body has great detail, but when you get to the face it gets simplistic and cartoony in a way... if he was a roman gladiator monster type of guy, he'd be wearing a helmet or his face would be mutilated by his countless battles... something edgy and not cartoony... watch the Gladiator movie, it'll get you in the right mind set of whats out there... beautiful work, wish i could do as such!

Hey ConceptCreature and BattleMonkey,
U guys Rock! I totally appreciate the straight forward opinions and totally agree with both of u. When u work on ur own stuff, u tend not see the things that ur missing, and I was missing those things big time. Totally Appreciate it.

That looks sweet! I don't have anything to say, that hasn't already been covered by the other guys who've replied to this. Excellent work, I love the detail you put into it. I look forward to seeing this finished.
