Here are some reference photos I took of some plastic (but fairly accurate) bones:

Elbow (http://www.digitalartform.com/archives/2004/11/anatomy_practic_5.html)

Humerus (http://www.digitalartform.com/archives/2004/10/anatomy_practic_4.html)

Scapula (http://www.digitalartform.com/archives/2004/10/anatomy_practic_2.html)

Shoulder Girdle (http://www.digitalartform.com/archives/2004/11/anatomy_practic_6.html)

Each entry above leads to a gallery of more images. I tried to supply artistically useful angles -- not just the usual medical front back and side views that make it hard to conceive the form.

Thanks for the references, I compared the length of the ulna to the humerus on a plastic skeleton i have access to and got the similar result of around 80 %. The bones aren't detachable like yours though.

Mine came only detached. It was actually a pain trying to find a good glue to glue them together.

My plan is to sculpt clay muscles onto the arm. I hope I got the angle of the clavicle right; it was the hardest of all to attach with any kind of permanence.

I need to figure out how to make some sort of stand for this arm that will hold it while I muscle it up.

jfrancis, thank you for posting these photos. it's funny - we spent a class this week focusing on the bones and muscles of the shoulder girdle and then i popped onto the forums and stumbled across this thread.

very helpful stuff, thanks!
