John was cleaning the ditch when "The holy warriors" blew up the tunnel they had dug under the outpost and stormed in. While John's comrades had superior equipment and training, they were eventually wiped out by thier enemies sheer numbers and ferocity.
Since "The holy warriors" had to move fast, much equipment was left behind for John to pick up and use in his plans for vengence.

Hi. Ehm.. the idea behind this one is the saying that the only one being hurt by hatred is the hater himself. I think that with holding grudges this is the same way. The only one getting hurt by holding a grudge is the one holding it (that is, if the one holding grudges keeps it to him or herself and doesn't take it out on other people.. of course, if they do take it out like that, it will hurt someone else more, possibly. But, I am not counting on that right now! :P)
Holding a grudge stabs into your flesh like little needles. Sometimes you will be able to ignore it but sometimes it will be just enough to really hurt you. Holding grudges, eventually, is a bad thing... so are needles in your lungs.

Now this is Eris, Greek godess of discord and strife. Her golden apple thrown into the crowd at the marriage of Thethis and Peleus (she was angry, because they hadn't invited her) - it was a very fine golden apple on which there was an inscription :"for the most beautiful" - caused the trojan war. Athena, hera and Aphrodite wanted to recieve the apple as a honour of their beauty, Paris was the judge. All of them promised gifts for getting the apple, the most beautiful wife seemed best for Paris, so he gave the apple to Aphrodite....now the stones began to role...I guess you know the story.

Eris with the apple - I thought that would fit to the grudge...well, if I've found a correct translation...

Anyway, spent about an hour on this . . . that is between doing homework, deciding what to draw and what-not . . . anyway, I even attempted a quick coloring job (just started learning, as you might have noticed . . . lol).
