hey,

I was thinking about to open a thread here for quite some time now. It's mostly because Robulus asked for such a thread, so if you see anything you like, he's the one to praise. I'm not much of a talker, never was, and when I realize I'm trying to write not as funny sentences (like now), I think it's time to quit the talking and let the pictures roll.

the first page picture on my very first sketchbook (that I keep a sketchbook is also Robulus' fault! blame him). started in Dec. 03. at the moment, I'm filling my third sketchbook and I guess next month I'll start the fourth.

the only thing that i have to say is the girl in the window need more work in the "fade perspective", you know, mode close, mode defined.

the ink stuff is so cool, the chiken-girl isnt too cool, but is for the concept not for the implementation..

I totally agree. I'm much better when it comes to ink then with the pencil. The main problem is, I don't have the patience to sit down, calm down, breathe and then spend some time just rendering with pencil. I'm the impatience in person. Everything that takes me more than 5min is an effort ^^ But I'm workin on it, some times ;)

If you like the inks, you may like these. As I said, I'm much better with ink. I've done only b/w pieces for approximately 1,5 years now. That's why it comes to me a lot easier than pencil rendering :)

try to improve your pencil work, i hate pencil too... too slow, but you have all the potential necesary to make some grat art with pencil, like you make with the ink. :bashful:

@jorge2k: thx! I hope you're right with what you said and I have the potential. But maybe I don't have. We'll see. But I'm glad you like the inks ^^

@Yutani: hehe... I'm sorry but I'm the perfectly wrong person to answer your question. Why? Simply because it's all done digital and I didn't even think of ink and paper for any of those b/w pieces. I never was any good when it came to inking. I never had and still don't have the patience to draw a picture "twice" ^^

@mikecorriero: thx for the welcome. Those different kinds of drawings really help me to keep my mind loose and not think about "style" and "individuality", so I'm glad to hear that you exactly like that diversity.

@I.was.ink: I do as you demand ;)

You know that I love your work, the different styles and your incredible output.

Ich schreib mal auf Deutsch weiter, ist einfacher. Ich zeichne momentan mal wieder seeeehr wenig. Aber ich hab mir sehr zu Herzen genommen das du mir gesagt hast das ich beim zeichnen lockerer und freier werden soll, und ich werde daran arbeiten. Dein Problem wiederum ist deine Ungeduld eine Zeichnung mit Ruhe und Hingabe zu vervollständigen. Schaffst du es diese Hürde zu überwinden, und diese mit deinem Talent der Spontanität zu kombinieren... Auweia! Dann gehst du ab Mann!
Nimm eins deiner Skizzen und versuche mindestens 10 Minuten daran zu arbeiten. Wenn die Ungeduld wieder an dir nagt, mach was anderes. Aber, schnapp dir, wenn du wieder Motivation gefunden die Zeichnung und arbeite wieder eine Viertelstunde daran. Und das machst du so oft bis du halt fertig bist. Geduld ist eine Frage der Übung. Du wirst erstaunt sein wie schnell du deine Grenzen versetzt wenn eine Gewöhnung eintritt TÄGLICH daran mit kleinen Schritten zu arbeiten.

Yeah, you're so right. I really have to work on my patience and I'll try as you suggested. I never sit down a second or a third time on a sketch and refine it, but I'll try it. I promise ^^
Don't bother yourself about not drawing that much. There are no expactations you have to meet except for your own. So don't force yourself to draw more loose, that won't work ;) But I'll show you a way to achieve a bit more loose drawings, I'll have to come to cologne next or the week after the next week, maybe you got some time to meet?

and another update. I didn't draw very much the last two weeks since i was so busy layin on my couch and reading various books, playing playstation2, watching Naruto and so on. I don't have much words to share, only that I'm trying to get a feeling for color, but it's still more struggle than success and I experience some unpleasant problems. I focused on colors the last two days, i messed around with them, thought about color theory, read about color ... and today i wanted to simply draw some figures again. And it didn't work. The drawings were so bad that if I would've saved some of them and show them to you, you wouldn't probably believe that I did them. I don't know what's the reason for that problem, but i sure know that it frustrates me and it's unacceptable for me to draw so bad! Anyway, here's the update, thanks for your time.

Actually you can download the whole series of Zombie Powder over at http://www.toriyamaworld.com in their manga section. It only went four volumes and was never completed. But it's very cool.
