I like it. It has a lot of character and expression. I guess if I were to suggest anything it would be to rework some of the gravestones. Compared to the rest of the piece, they look unfinished and a tad generic. Maybe desaturate the sky a little as well so the characters would draw more focus. Great work overall though. Keep it up.

you have some realy nice stuff on your site....
Is 'erie feeling' inspired by a Heather Graham photograph?

I love the expressions on their faces. I was really impressed with the other stuff on your website, too. Anyway, back to the post: it feels like something is missing, maybe more stuff on the background to make it less stark? There's too much stuff that is equidistant from other objects/subjects. But, I love it.

Yeah I agree with EXO. Desaturating tthe sky would help alot. Also one of the grave stones dissappears behind the right witches leg. I might add a few more grave stones and the textures could use more work. Characters are brilliant.. You may think of adding some more clues as to the fact that they are witches. Maybe spell books, witch hat, broom that sort of thing. Just a thought.. I like your website, by the way.

hey thanks ScubaSteve! that was the other thing about this piece... They really never were witches in my mind. I always thought of them as "Witch-like" and kind of gothic and evil but not full blown witches. Thats why I've been having problems with the title as well... any suggestions?
So even though I appreciate the suggestions of the brooms and such, I don't think I want to go in that direction... a little too "witchy" for me...
Thanks very much for the crit tho!

the first girl feels entirely too much like "violet" from that new pixar joint "the incredibles" to me.

Hey there,
I really love this piece of yours, somewhat reminds me of the film 'The Craft'. Your characters got a personal and unique twist, adorable is all I can say.
Keep it up and maybe you'll show us some more about your book project illustration.
Take care,
