Lately, my eyes will hurt when I concentrate too much, whether it be a drawing or painting. It's not that I cant see, but at times I have to give my eyes a break cuz they hurt. I'm sure the pressure of school and stress doesnt help either...:[
Does anyone else have this problem or anything similar?

Sure, this is actually quite common (or at least my opthalmologist says so)

I went to get glasses once and basically he laughed and said there was no way he would prescribe me glasses for when I was tired. I slunk out of his office, my head hung low in shame...

So yeah, basically I think this can happen to anyone who stares at something really close up for a long time. Take up shooting. I hear shooting does help quite a bit (iron sights of course) if you commit to going at least twice a week (may or may not be convenient depending on where you live)

I used to get that while I was going to school/being stressed. My eyes were getting sore all the time, but especially when I was drawing.
After I was done with school, a couple weeks of adjustment to a more sane lifestyle, and I could sit and draw for days without so much as a twitch of my eye.

Basically it comes from your eyes straining at a close up object for too long... whether its a computer screen or a sketchbook. On one hand it is normal as it can happen to anybody, but if it's chronic or you feel nervous about it you should go see an opthamologist(not an optometrist) definately!

Can help to look out the window once in a while too.

You should take a break every 2 hours for 15 mins and stare somewhere far off. I know you can't always remember to do that, I know I don't, but that's one way to relax your eyes. When you stare too long at something far or close for many years your eye lenses will become rigid with age :\

I've all but burned my eyes out... they are seriously messed up and always hurt.. can't really focus farther than a few feet anymore. Well, no, it does get better if I go out and act normal.

After a couple of months of intensive 80h/week in front of a computer my eyesight went down. It's only temporary (or so my eye doc said) and is a result of eye fatigue.
Remember to have a nice refresh rate on your screen guys or you'll really go blind and risk headaches.

I have a crazy problem when I draw. If Ive been drawing somat for quite a while, my eyes kinda roll and twitch for a dew seconds and im partially blind. Its quite disturbing, reminds me of somat that could be on the exorcist.
Its no joke this actually happens but very rarley.
