here's the piece I'm currently working on. I was wondering how I could get this wildebeast to look more chewed up without going overboard. I want it to still look like a wildebeast. There will be a bunch of vultures on it and flying around it. One rib is sticking up..it'll be in a vulture's mouth along with organs and other gunk. Any ideas will be greatly appreciated. Thanks. http://www.geocities.com/lane052278/index.html?1014497304762

For those who can't see the pictures, drag the link to your current window's addy bar.
Fastlane: this looks really nice. I guess the vulture is pretty lucky to have found a carcass in that state.
Here are my two cents.. ignore at will : You seem to wonder how to distress your beast furthermore. Maybe you should think about what happene to the corpse since the animal died. For example, if a lion already came accross it, a pack hyenas, only vultures.. ? Imagine what damage they can do with their fangs/claws/or beaks.
You should be able to tell if the thing got dragged or pulled etc. It's not forensic science but almost ;)
One last thing ; be sure to check from reference the proportion of the animals. Is this a calf ? Head proportions, etc.
Oh I really wanted to know what did you sculpt that in and what are you plans for the sculpture afterwards.
Good go ! :chug:

Most of my sculptures tend to fulfill an assignment so in the past they've been kinda dry on subject matter. Now, in my final semester, I'm given total freedom. I wanna make'em darker and more detailed. I trying to focus on "the good and the evil" of the world. I've done a sculpt of Gambit, a Saddam Hussein caricature, and now the vulture piece. If you guys have any ideas lemme know.
....ringling is very expensive.....very. And I'll be paying my loans off for a very long time. But it all comes down to how much you are willing to sacrifice for something you truly love. For me, that was everything.

egerie, no need for the bold font, we arent stupid, those links werent there before
fastlane, the sculpture is sweet, maybe the wildebeast could be in a more dramatic position (probably be hard to do since its a sculpture, eh?), also maybe add more flesh thats been pulled off the rest off the body, kinda hanging off the belly, so it looks more like its been pulled open.

usagi yojimbo - :( I'm sorry if I offended you, this wasn't my intention at all. :( I know people surfing the forums are well knowledged but the use of the bold font was meant for people to notice the information. This was only a visual indication for others that might not be familliar with geocities' tricks. Good thing this wasn't in capitals. :)
Once again, please accept my appologies this was done with good intentions. I was also unaware that the links were added during an edit.
