Just wanted to make a self serving announcment that my book on digital painting is finally finished. I received a copy from the publisher last week and I think that it at least looks good. i hope that you find the content usefull. I understand that it should be in bookstores very shortly if not already.

Yeah! I was getting worried when Amazon sent me an email informing me that I could cancel my pre-order because the publisher wasn't giving a ship date anymore! (and this was after the ship date changed a few times)
Can't wait!

The problem seemed to be with the CD duplicator. I heard that they had interesting business practices....don't know what that actually means but it was a frustrating wait. I actually finished the book back in August. It should be in stores this week. I got my copy on Monday last week and was told that they would ship by mid to end of last week. If nothing else, I do think it is a pretty book and hope that people will find it useful.

There is nothing wrong with that, and maybe a picture can paint a thousand words, but it is often wise to read the small print, just incase there is something you have missed.
Sorry Kay, I don't have the book, but I understand there are some nice illustrations included. Whether you can gain the information you seek just by looking at the pictures is a question only you can answer.

Just a question about the book I have...
How in depth is it about the actual techniques in digital painting? In particularly Painter, which I just acquired and is really confusing the heck out of me. (having a hard time knowing what brush to use for what and what layers work together and why)

Hi Don,
I've had your book for a little while now...it's really awesome. The step by step nature of the whole book makes it invaluable. Awesome job...I love your textures and brushes too...I use "Don's chalk 2" all the time hehe.
