Gotta a tekkie question here.
I've seen a couple of times that people have taken screen captures from DVD's on their computer and used them for ref (great idea).
My screen capture app won't let me do that. I'm not surprised as I'm sure it gets into the murky world of pirating, etc.
Can it be done? If so how? I'd love to be able to work on my colour theory using some of this stuff.

Although I have never used it for DVD's specifically there are screencapture programs (like Snagit (http://www.techsmith.com/default.asp) ) that will capture anything on your screen and output them as image files. You should be able to work with the files you get from that software (I think it outputs .gif's). I have used it for Real Media (which is damn hard to get usually) and it worked well....

Just hit the "Alt Gr" and the "Print" Button. Then open PS or Painter or even M$ Photo Editor. In the first two, make a new file, then paste. In the second you have the option of paste as new. This only works for the active window. Not very sophisticated, but free! If you've any questions left, just ask!
