Jens, I donŽt know what youŽre going for in those drawings but some anatomycall knowledge would push them a step further. You could also play "mixing" skulls. Say a horse skull with a human skull. YouŽd get an imaginary animal/monster skull that would look real.I dont know if thats what you want , i repeat.
these i did last year with a plastic skull for reference. pretty loose anatomycally incorrect pencil and marker renderings. In the second page I used gouache for he highlights in one of the skulls.

-jens-i like the funky designs..its true though, concept designs based on real life really kick.

These skulls look great guys...I gotta get me one to do more studies with it.
