BIG scary Photoshop problem <:`{

i was opening photoshop 7 like always and suddenly it just closes!! now every time i open it, same thing, like..

initializing...

loading...

loading brushes...

BAM

first i restarted, then i uninstalled, then i reinstalled, nothing seems to work! HELP :x

trash the photoshop preferences and try again (they'll be recreated automatically)

watch the start screen to see exactly when it crashes - if it's during "loading brushes" try removing your brushes from their default folder (if it starts, they're bad)

increase the amount of memory allocated to photoshop

run a disk utility on your system and look for any corrupt files that relate to pshop, delete or fix 'em

stop using that bootleg copy you downloaded from one of those shady newsgroups and go buy yourself a legit version, then call adobe tech support and make 'em earn their paychecks

well i was about to go the less expensive path of the educational version, when i decided to just go for CS.. now my 7 is still broken, but CS works, so doesnt matter..

dued, photoshop is an inexspensive graphics program.
compare the prices of 3ds max or maya and other programs.
those programs are expensive.
photoshop is quite affordable.
