work on dynamic poses, anotomy, and perspective.
do some life drawing, that is the only way to get better at drawing.
the proportions on this character are ok.

Dont ask for comments and then get mad when someone responds honestly. Its not his fault youre a beginner.
As for the picture, it looks really flat. Everything is viewed from the front. The character is facing right at you. The gun is exactly on its side and its hard to tell what the guy is doing with it. The perspective is right from the front. If youre making a comic book, you need dynamic angles. Try a 3/4s view, or a worms eye view or anything really. Dynamic poses are important too. Keep practicing.

thanx thats at least helpfull. well i got mad because muffinman or whatever didnt have the slightest usefull thing to say at all, so i was like 'why the heck did this guy post at all??' well who cares. I wasnt gong for dynamic poses really. im working on them at the moment but this was just a design. it wasnt ment to be super great i just like the features of it. im going to work on poses but thats not all opur comics going to have!

just for the record, those things may just be the single most important thing in your carrer as a cartoon artist. Almost all of his sentences are useful.
You said in your post that you wanted to improve your art skills. Then LISTEN TO MUFFINMAN!
Then you say that you weren`t going for dynamic poses, and that this is just a design. Then I`ll assume that you want crits on your design. (if not, what DO you want?)
Your design is very generic. The gun/katana-combo is seen EVERYWHERE. I have even done a few of those myself. The gun looks unpractical, it is so damn big when the handle is so thin, leaving no room for a big clip or bullets.
Sometimes getting honest critique is hard, but look at it this way: If you stroke your dog on the head everytime he shits on the floor, he is gonna keep shitting on the floor for the rest of his life.
Sorry if i sounded harsh, and good luck with your project!
Here`s something to help you on the way:

my sister is also 14 and when she asks me for advice, i tell her something to improve and she gets all upset and stuff.. kinda reminds me of you..
muffinman had a legitimate point in his statement:
DO LIFE DRAWINGS! IT'S THE ONLY WAY TO IMPROVE!
it's true.. begin with simple basic forms like cubes and balls and try to render them carefully and exact.. loosen up with the pencil
don't start drawing the human body.. 'tis one of the most complex things you can draw.. and for a comic series the style just isn't executed well enough imo. comics are stylized.. to develop style you have to know how to draw realistically..
a lotta people start and try to copy some style they saw that they liked.. although it may look simple those cartoon artists have trained themselves in that style for years..
hope i could help!

HA muffinmans comments were great!
If you ask for honest advice then you should deal with it when it comes.
as for your drawing, i think you got talent and i think you have the beginings for developing your own style, but like was said before, you definately just need to practice the human form. Im learning it myself and ive gradually gotten better each month since i started drawing people from megazines. You just need to practice and draw from subjects and everything will start falling into place. :)
and again, DONT GET ANGRY WHEN PEOPLE GIVE YOU HONEST ADVICE! GIVING ADVICE AND HELP IS MOSTLY WHAT THIS FORUM IS ABOUT!
