Welcome to the best thread for hotel info around the SF workshop. :)

Here is some general info to get you through til we relaunch the site update.

The hotels we have negotiated with are very near the workshop. You cand find the info below....

Hotel Triton
342 Grant Ave (at Bush)
San Francisco, CA 94108

www.hotel-tritonsf.com
Phone 415-394-0500
1-800-433-6611 (US only)

20 double rooms (4 people per room)
$129 a night.

Galleria Park Hotel
191 Sutter Street
San Francisco, CA 94104

www.galleriapark.com
Phone 415-781-3060
1-800-792-9639 North America

30 doubles (4 people per room)
$129 a night

Both hotels are booked from Jan 06 (check in) to Jan 10 (check out)
if the workshop participants need to check in or out a day before or after, thats fine, just
let them know. they have to mention Concpet Art to get the rates.

They also need to figure out who is rooming with whom. one person needs to make a reservation and put their cc# down in order to hold the reservation. We do not believe cards are charged until you check out of the hotel after the workshop. If you need help finding a roomate for the weekend or want to figure out who you might want to stay with, you can visit the WORKSHOP ROOMATES thread located in this same workshop forums.

There are also hostels in sf which may be cheaper to a degree. 129 a night is a great rate in SF. You may also check with the local motel6, super8, days inn etc...to see if you can find a more affordable rate. The workshop is located in the heart of down town just off mission. We chose the hotels because of their close approximation to the workshop space.

This is the only workshop planned for the usa in 2005. We hope you can make it out to SF with us for what is going to be the biggest art event of the entire year.

I can check out if our long term rate at the Courtyard by Marriott is available.
If the work shop is on 1st and Harrison, then its only 2 blocks away. Free dsl in all the rooms. Oh and if i remember correctly, the long term rate is somewhere 139-149. If anybody is interested, let me know.

we already have rooms booked at 129 at two hotels. if there is overflow that may be an option. right now its just cheaper to stay with what we have negotiated. we spoke with the marriott and they were unwilling to negotiate with us so we had to go elsewhere.

I just want people to be able to afford to come and also have a place to stay...so thanks for the info.
