Hi people.
This is a self-portrait I started today (5 hours work) in PS7. I am showing you the finished half of the face and a close-up of the eye.
Please comment!

It looks more like abrasions than rust...you should go more into orange/brown for the rusty parts...also a complementary color for the face or at least partially would make your composition much more interesting...
What are these things on his nose?

Thanks for commenting Fozzybar. About the orange brown...well I think this is as near as I can get to orange brown. I took the colors directly from a rust photograph, so they cannot be anymore realistic. Perhaps you meant the texture is not quite right...
About the complementary color...I agree, that the overall orange is too..."overall". I quickly introduced some "dirty" dark cyan to see what comes up.
About the things in the nose...I erased them. I'll have to introduce something different that is industry-like or mechanical.
Keep commenting and suggesting

Some refinements...added some contrast with the dodge/burn tool...well...I don't know what it is anymore, blood or rust..whatever...I hope I don't offend anyone.

Comments are still welcome, of course.

Self portrait with wounds are a favorite of mine too. I think it is a great way to improve ones skills. You know how you are supposed to look, so you also know how your face reacts to injuries.
I like the color skeme, and I agree with Fozzybear, but you say that you took the colors from a rust picture. I don't know how you did it, but I would advise you not to use the eye dropper tool to do that. It is very inacurate, even with a large tolerance. You shold just use your own eye, if a color looks red go for red, if brown go for the brown that feel the closest.
Don't know if it makes any sense, still I gave it a shot.

[edit: davi]: I was pm'd about the following iamge to be too violant, they wished for it to be removed. I think just leaving it as a link will be good enough.

Whoa, man! This is not what I had in mind about my selfportrait! Your photomanipulation looks really painful! I think I totally gave the wrong idea about my painting!
I think I'll remove it sooner or later.
