I finally dropped the wacom pad and bought some real pens. THEY RULE! They did cost a shitload, but hell, it was worth it. Please gimme some feedback on my very first copic pen piece!

It looks great. Looks like you took your time on it, it shows in the detail and the whethering. Can you recommend any good white markers, that will add highlights and not suck up the color from below? I've heard of copic markers, but don't know what they look like or how they are used. Would you mind filling me in? I just bought a 48 set of prismacolor markers, and can't wait to use em.

First off, thanks for the comments man... I did put quite some time in the actual concept atleast. drawing this final version actually went quite quick.

The copic markers (I have a cool gray set of 12 pens) are only used for the actual coloring and shading... In my case atleast! still a newbie... But for the highlights I use an "Artline paint marker". It works fine and the background color doesnt show through all too much. especially not if you go over it again once its dried.

The highlits do show off a whole lot better on the real life one though.. but thats probably simply since its a whole lot bigger.

I think you've done a good job - the perspective seems right and looks nice, so I don't really have any crits on the drawing.

But shouldn't the arrow follow the line of flight?

Or is it me that's off?

Anyway, nice work on the drawing. :)

chudzta: Nope, this one bored me, its off to draw more nude women now:) No more silly racers...

John: The arrow actually follows the perspective origin.. but I agree... it does look kinda screwed... Oh well.. I couldnt care less! its mathematically correct atleast.

thanks for comments both of ya:)

:chug: BEEERRRRrr!!

This is in response to the question about white markers. I found that Pro-White works the best for applying highlights and such. It comes in a little jar that will last you forever. Its fantastic stuff, add water to it to thin it out, or use it right out of the jar it works great and wont pick up any of the color below it. You can find it in almost any art store. Just get a nice fine tip brush for applying the most detailed highlights. It allows for so much more control then the marker types.
