I was reading the book and was inspired to do some character sketches, and I decided to paint this one. I'm interested in hearing what I can do to make it more realistic, particularly the skin. (He's a humongous albino monk for those who haven't read it.)

Hey,
The hands like gigantic in comparison too the face which is pretty small. The hair is looking kinda flat right now too. The colouring on his left hand looks a little strange, I think you over accentuated the bumps on top of the fist, making them look like hes got some adamantium claws waiting to pop out from those babies.

hes not albino in your pic :)

your working too tightly.... post up a 'light study' with just the big masses of light and shadow on his face, if you try to go over detaile dit ends up looking muddy and hard to read

peace :)

I think the gesture is good here, but the face is too small. You've rendered the folds of the cloth well and his body seems to have a good mass. The head just does not fit with the rest of it right now.
I probably wouldn't put so much pink in the flesh tones. Maybe more white with some bluish and purple. Check the hair also. It seems to be all in one piece.

best!
