first off, i think overall it's a great piece. i've liked your work since the first time i saw it.

there is one thing bothering me though. the anatomy of the neck looks really funky. the trapezius look sunken in, and then muscles of the neck don't connect rights, specifically the one on the left side of her neck. also, the collar bones might bow too low, but that might appear that way just cuz of the other things.

again, good job as always.

Wow..amazing work dude.
I actually dont see a problem with the neck..though it is anatomically incorrect, so is the big hole in her stomach =P I think to really adds to the feeling that she is a tortured individual.
I also love the background, it adds a great deal to the mood.
Overall, very very nice piece...I cant think of one crit =P Keep it up!

yea th eneck doesnt bother me either--i dont like it when people draw everything perfect anyways-its boring. but only if they choose to--not because they are ignorant about anatomy. once youve drawn enough figures you can start to have a little fun, and not worry about how realistic it is. But you have to draw an ass load of everything before your artistic vocabulary displays it......sorry just had to get that off my chest. I thik its beautiful. I feel like the flowers hanging around her are just kind of floating and could be incorporated into the design a little better, like if you got rid of the right and bottom flower--there would be a relationship set up between her and the one above her head. But as it stands now they all feel like something you just kind of added at the last minute because maybe you thought it was too boring around the figure. I could be way off--just my 2 cents.
i also respect the way youre using culture as an influnce on th eflowers and her dress
keep up the GGrrrrrrrreat work. ty

thanx for the crits guys.
Please consider the geishas neck to be a tribute to Foster's :D ;) Empty, you're right with the muscles placement and connections and I will see what I can do to fix it.
Anyway I obviously wanted her to be streched like she was beginning to fly, as in some sort of transe, you know. I know that my anatomy is not academical and it would be wrong to say that I already did the tons of sketches Tyboogie's talking about. I wouldn't say that I don't care about anatomy but... well, you know... I don't care. :D I'm much concerned with feelings and symbolism.
Concerning the flower patterns I think they fit, I placed them in order to increase the sensation of flight, I wanted to make readers sense the air spiraling around her.

i didnt mean you had to do alot of sketches of this peice before going to a finish--- i meant you have to draw alot before you can draw a figure out of your head without reference and make it look good.artistic wisdom from experience--ty

Hey Bomba ! Thanx for the kind reply, it's a great pleasure :chug:

As a huge fan and player of White Wolf games I've seen how you did evolve from your first sketches to the fantastic photomanipulations you're doing by now. I hope I can follow the same kind of path as yours in a near future.
Thanx again Jason.

Dude your imagination is immense...although you must have plagued your parents as a child! This is awesome...as for the whole neck business...it looks fine...it absolutely suits the feeling of the pic and works great. I have to say the texture on that back wall is AMAZING...great work man.
