Hi! This isn't my first post here, but the other posts were so long ago it might as well be. Anyhow, I think I'm pretty much finished with this, but I might change it a bit if any of you have any crits. It's for the LOTR challenge at the cgtalk forum. Any crits would be greatly appreciated!:D

:) I like it.
My only crit would be the left side (his right) of his face falls back into the background, you might be able to clear that up by adding a little more value contrast or a secondary light source coming from the left of your frame of reference. Nice effort! :chug:

Thanks for the reply Gloklund. :chug: I think I fixed the problem with the left side of the face. I also increased the contrast and saturation. What do you guys think? Any more crits?

hey sheep-- I like what youre doing here. I like the original better though. the color just works better for me, and the chnges you made in the saturation werent very subtle. I thought you could have just gone in and added some contrast manually with a paintbrush and you would have been fine. keep up th egood work--ty

I agree with tyboogie, the colors where much better in the 1st image. maybe you could go back to the original and just pull out the right side of his face with some more value, or add that secondary light that I mentioned in my first reply. Good work.;)

Thanks for the feedback. I was kind of feeling the same way myself about the second image. I adjusted the saturation/contrast based on some crits I received at a different forum. I think what I will end up doing is trying to find a happy medium between the two by going in and painting over the second image. I had complaints that the first image looked too flat and desaturated. Anywho, thanks a ton for the crits...I'll see what I can do:D
