I'm sure the Seattlites here already know about this, but just in case someone hasn't heard yet: on October 16th, the Seattle Art Museum will open "Spain in the Age of Exploration", an exhibit featuring artists such as Bosch, Titian, Velázquez, Bernini, Rubens, and Goya. Should be quite exciting.

haha, i discovered that flyer in my sketchbook yesterday, from a couple weeks ago seeing the van gogh show.

this show is gonna be awesome.. just got a book full of some stuff from these guys. sounds like there'll be a focus on history and what influenced the paintings, always cool.

let's see if we can organize a caravan down there. always cool to look at famous paintings with other artists!

Oh, that should be a good show! I'm up for going to SAM with a group of other folks -- it's more fun that way for sure.. I usually just go on my own :nohope:

I bet we can get some other people from the weekly sketch group interested in going also.

Sounds good to me.

+1!

Edit: I hit send too early! I'm a compulsive sender. :(

If anyone driving from outside of downtown is opposed to paying for metered parking, there is free parking all over Queen Anne. The bus routes from Queen Anne take you right to SAM. Since I live on Queen Anne, if some people want to meet up and bus it down there, then let me know.
