that code is an ip number, the number of your computer on the internet. So if Batterram has the same ip as God means he uses the same computer, so probably Batterram is the same guy as God he simply registered a new name.

And davi, you obviously feel differently, but I dont think its very professional to post someones IP on a public forum, no matter what they did..all you had to do was say that God has the same IP as Batteram..

PS - if batteram is the second, who was first? This never seemed to me like the type of forum that would attract people that are such a**** that they would get banned.

Obviously there will be a wide range of artists at boards like this, from the beginner to the very experienced and professional artists.

The beginners should also be allowed to post of course, as it's the only way(well, not the only way, but you know what I mean) to learn.

I feel like a beginner myself, and because I've never went to art schools, I'll likely never be as good, at least not in all areas, as most other people here.

But I'm planning on posting my progress and learn as much as I can from these forums(as well as reading the books I have and such), and I'm sure iwasink is doing the same.

Plus you are currently in art school iwasink, so you have many years still to improve. I also think you have improved since you came here.

Umm...about posting the IP address, that's a big no no, even under circumstances like this. That's private information, just like your street address. At least if he has a static IP.

Only way of getting better, is to try and try, so I hope this doesn't stop you from wanting to become better iwasink. :)


(by the way - it would be a nice gesture to the people coming into this thread from now on, if you could edit the first post so that the blue text is not blue. I literally still have a headache from reading it. It hurts the eyes. :))

The first ban happened right before the big redesign (or was it a crash...don't remember)...

A guy opened a thread for asking if anyone knows the artist of a robot pic he posted...the delicate thing was that he copied and pasted this pic into a wallpaper he made and entered a contest with this one. He made the 3rd place in this wallpaper-contest and won a monitor ad valorem 500$...but he wasn't interested in paying something to the original artist, he just wanted to know who it was...after a big discussion (including e-mails), Jason Banley (wow...great joke here...) banned him...

And thus was the first ban in history of conceptart...

BTW of course Batteram could login with a different nick...but nevertheless the admins had to do this...I am sure he's watching the thread anyway...

MCM... while it's unlikely, it is possible. Even worse, it could have been a different machine and person entirely. IP addresses are usually assigned dynamically, especially if the person is dial-up. e.g. Every time you reconnect to the net, you get a different IP Address that your ISP has from a set block of numbers to use. So, while unlikely, it is possible that someone using the same ISP as batteram got that same address at a different time, which would mean batteram is entirely innocent. But I doubt it... the odds are really much too great. And considering this guy has a history of doing this on other boards... I applaude the Admin's here for doing what they did. Keep this place a No-BS zone.
