O.K I started messing around after I looked at evil dan's stuff and out came the sketch for this girl. I think it came out pretty good. I'm pretty sure that there's mistakes and such. I would like them pointed out. But I don't really want to be trashed, just helpful tips and crits that would help me out, but please try and not put me down. I worked very hard on this and wouldn't want my spirits shot down.

Its just a "for fun" piece. Things I don't like are the gun, the neck I think is a tad weird, I wanted her to look prettier, but oh well, and the arms are a bit big and maybe out of proportion because no ref was used. I'm proud of myself cuz like mentioned above no ref was used. Yes it could be better, but I see it as a milestone that I passed and am on my way to getting better. And I thanks everyone on these boards for that. Especially, Jason Manley, Jon Foster, Fozybar, Davi, Oblio, Keyth, Evil Dan, Cos, Jester, MindCandyMan, Smeagol, Prometheus, Sparth, Odin Six, and everyone that has helped me or inspired me in some way. <--------and those were just off the top of my head.

Thanks to everyone, now crit this, but please be gentle.:)

Hi,
That is a nice drawing and CG. I like your color selection, was it done in Photoshop? Anyway, the character design is interesting and different...good thing, IMHO. Her pose does seem a bit awkward, though. I think that HER left arm would be swinging outward more with her spinning like she is...perhaps even pointing the pistol upward, along her line of vision. Then again...hhmm, no, scratch that. With her right leg coming forward and her left leg a pivot, I would think now that her left arm should up and out in front of her a bit. All that aside I think overall your proportions and anatomy are fine. Her shoulder and knee are a bit "bulgy" for lack of a better word, maybe just a bit smaller on those. Anyway, its nice work, keep on a artin' :)

thanks. I agree with the pose. It could have looked more dynamic, but maybe for the next one. And yeah, the knee and arm are a bit bulgy.:p

I'll keep on artin!

P.S photoshop, and a little of painter.

umm... i love the composition but there are some problems to her pose.
i'm so new to anatomy i'm realy scared to comment about but i'll make my try.
I'm still at the job so the modif's are mouse made.. in hurry.
There are still porblems with her neck and probably others too.
I've moved her shoulder - since she was pivoting her hips were comming toward the viewer while the shoulder was turning the otherway.
Also i've changed the background to colder colors and added more saturation to the reds so she'll pop out a bit more.
Again.. i don't know what exactly i'm doing here but.. for sure i try to help. Rock on buddy.

I'm glad that my sketches got your juices flowing :) I like the colors and the design of costume. The main problem i see is with the feel of the pose. My suggestion is that next time you start a drawing spend more time on the rough sketch. You'll be surprised how much you can get away with once you have nice gesture to work from. I would love to paint over it if i wasn't such a horrible painter :D

horrible? I would be honored to have you paint over it. That way I can learn from you.

Good job, oblio. I knew something was wrong with the shoulder-neck area, but wasn't sure on how to fix that. thanks for the help.

Anymore help?:)

Ok, here's my stab at the pose. A bit sloppy, hope you get the idea.
