The Void!

I've been working on this one for the past 2 weeks for Mark Richards who thinks I'm good enough to get paid for doing it (yay me..!) The Void! is the blue guy in the middle and is Mark's own creation and character. Mark also teaches at Lismore TAFE in NSW Australia.

The master .psd file had 45 layers and came in at 89Mb...gawd

That Ryu is so rad! This is a strong peice... but I am not sure about the Superman in the foreground... something I cant put my finger on... at times he is distracting at times not... maybe he should be left out or he should remain in Voids palm... Not sure... I will reply if I think of something

I think it's the blue of his costume against the similar blue of void's costume. Killer color job though. Clean as HELL.


Now, as for the subject matter? There's kinda a little bit of everything there. Any story for this one? I mean, it's cool to see Homer (Simpsons), Ryu (Strret Fighter), Leonardo (teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles), And that thing from Samurai Cyber Squad all in the same image. Kinda confusing. I think I've heard this joke, but there was a rabbi, and something about a bar.

yeah there're a lot of characters in it but that's because it's my understanding that Mark R is using this pic as a splash page to go on a pamphlet/promo piece or somesuch to flog his comics/cartooning/art course at the TAFE where he works (TAFE is kinda like a cross between high school and university - they're called polytechnics in the UK...)

I agree with the superman but the colour pallete was limited to the established colours of the characters. Supes tends to blend in but blame that on the pencillers choice of location for him, I just coloured it. *shrugs*
