Here is a recent work of Peter Parker in his alien costume. Comments and critiques welcomed.
Cheers,

looks damn cool, BUT I dont appreciate how you drew the butt... ;)
It makes him look...gay somehow...not that I have something against gay people, BUT I dont want spiderman to be one... ;)
The technique and everythings else is very good, keep it up...

yes, he does look rather nude in the buttocks area

well, pehaps we can get him to draw spidey some breasts and rename the thread to Spider-Girl-Illustration. :bashful:
Nah, just kidding dude...you did a great job as I already said...

Why are you guys looking at his butt anyway? Okay, I've softened his crack. Good thing I didn't draw him from the front.

Technique-wise, it's really nicely done! The atmosphere and all that is killer.
On an anatomical level there are some issues, mainly in the transition from shoulders to neck to head. With the split in the trapezeus indicating the center line, we see too much of his face. So, either put more of a twist in his neck, and have that center line wrap around more, also putting a little more of an idication of the back of his skull... or make his face more in a profile. That's what really stood out for me on first glance... other than that, it looks great!

It's a good artwork but the pose/atitude is too much femenine.

I agree with all the comments basically.
..but no one else thinks that left arm looks retarded!
it's smaller than the right arm in the background.

I think it's pretty damn solid actually. I love the kinda scale-looking texture on the suit, very cool. The only critique i can give you is that his webbing really looks more like barbwire than actual web. Maybe try to give it a more fluid, white look rather than the grey choppy look.

yeah, beautiful texture an pespective. Spidey could however use a bit more anatomy in the arms an shoulders looks a little funny. This peice has amazing potential.
keep up the good work!

did you use any reference for the anatomy?
the pelvic area is excellently executed

Great rendering. I really like the anatomy definition on him. The actual gesture is kinda funny like everyone said but over all you have done a great job. How long did it take and how did you do it?

Thanks everyone for your comments. I wanted to stay away from the usual front-view, legs extended above the head shot so I tried something different from the back which resulted in the 'girly' pose. I used an anatomy book as well as several bodybuilder images as reference when I sketched. I rarely draw the back of the body so I thought it would be a good exercise. I think I probably lost a lot of the anatomy when I painted over it. It is done mostly in Photoshop with a little help from Painter. I'm not sure how many hours I have into it. I started it a few weeks ago but kept getting pulled off of it to do boring work to pay the bills.
Thanks again!
