hi,
i need a quote.
10 minutes ago i was working on my childrens' book when i got a phone call from someone living an hour and a half away from me offering a job doing something related to a comic book or cartoon, it wasn't very clear, and he asked me how much i might charge for something like that. i just said i'd need to know more details before i can say, but apparently we're going to meet sometime next week since i told him i'm around his area every saturday for my comp animation class anyway.
since i'm not quite sure what the job is, can anyone tell me what the quote usually is for one entry-level comic book? Let's say, he provides the general plan of the whole book, what goes on in each page, and I do the rest, including color. how much might i say that will cost? i just need an idea so i dont go in clueless.
as for the 'cartoon'...i can't be quite sure what he means by that yet, so...let's say he wants me to completely produce a short film of about 3 minutes in length which he simply provides the story for. how much might i say that will cost?
obviously i need to work on my sudden-phone-call questioning skills. there isn't anything wrong with meeting a client with whom you've barely spoken to about his project(s) if you're in his area, is there?
