Hi, Thought I would take the plunge and post an image here for feedback.
This is a portfolio piece I have been working on for LONG while, in between gigs.
Just finished it today, thankfully. This is one of those that just didn't want to get
finished.

Any thoughts would be appreciated, living in a vacuum when it comes to this
type of content.

I like your style. Checked out the website as well, and got stuck for a while. Great stuff.
I really like the rendering and light on the skeleton ghost, and the womans face.
The only thing I'm wondering about is the duplicate hand. I don't get it.
I think you should do something at the end of the "tunnel" to give it more depth, and maybe not that bright yellow.

Thanks Gallon, your input was very helpful.
I was wondering if the hand was going to be a problem. It was originally suppose to
communicate another idea, but it wasn't working and so I scrapped it. But I liked the
painting in the hand so I tried to incorporate into a new idea.
Got to let go of these things sometimes I think.
Thanks for adding some clarity.

I guess the hand has to go. Originally the hand was suppose to be
the conjurer's, sort of a blood sacrifice for magic. But it wasn't working.
Tried instead to suggest it was the kings, with clues such as the ring,
sword + cut on wrist, but I guess it still isn't a clear narrative.

Much better. I think the hand don't have to go, as the ring and the sword gives it a "look-twice quality" ( :)). You look once and perhaps think " why is that hand there?", and then you look again and it's "Oh, that's the ghost's hand...ok, cool! (:)).
I think the new clothes on the woman looks great and the night outside makes it much more interesting. It makes you wonder if they are inside a ancient tomb, or in small house on the countryside, and the only things needed to summon the old king was his sword and his ring, stolen from his resting place. Long sentence there.
Great work! I like the style, is it digital or traditional?

I am using oils on canvas.
The reference for the gal was shot in the entranceway of my favorite pub, where
she works. A lot of my paintings have included staff or customers.
