How is it? I was considering getting it, but I should save my money....unless it's totally awesome of course.

i have to say it is TOTALLY AWESOME.

they basicly fixed every boring part of sims1 and added so much more.

the fault of sims1 for me was that...every day was just the same as before if you let it. sims2 is much more randomized.

When you start your sim off you pick what type of aspirations they'll have.

Say if you pick wealth, each day there will be a random set of aspirations they can do, like "earn $500" "buy this" "yadda yadda", pretty basic as aspirations goes, but you can also do romance, family, knowledge, and something else...i forget :P

but every day the goals change and the better you do, the more you can use the 'nifty' objects of the game.

Also the job system is changed so that people have days off, which makes each day slightly different if you have a big household. You can change your outfit any time by going to the fashion shop and just purchasing some new stuff.

another thing that makes it more interesting is that the sims age, so you want to do things in a certain time peroid before they DIEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeee. but when they die their money is passed around to family and friends, so all the hard work pays off in the end.

anyways it is a dandy game :]

I've seen a couple of the trailers for the game. Looks pretty cool. I might have to pick it up.

One of the things that I understand they included in the game is that if you have kids, their a random mix of the parent's features, and they start off as babies and actually grow up.

yup you can make 2 freaky looking parents, then click the 'create baby' option and it will auto config the features together and will grow up looking like the parents

Oh my gosh, I LOVE it. I bought the game a couple of days ago and have since made a few custom skins, including a mudokon skin (see: Sapphire's avatar. :) ) I think it would be really awesome if there were a thread for people to post either pictures or the skins themselves to show off creative and artistic talent. This is, after all, conceptart.org. ;)

prom you sure can!
i would love to see some models done for sims2 by prometheus.

you should really think about it prom, The sims people really harvest their own personalities and the users have alot to get attached to when playing them, so imagine your characters being played by THOUSANDS of people.

Yes you can ! :bashful:

As far as it looks every sim is Bi ,so it's just a question of giving a good share of "attention" to your choosen one and only.
But you probably have to be careful with lovetriangles not sure if you can work around the good old jealousy. :\

One problem is if one of your sim dies, you get urn ,having this urn in the house gives you some big poltergeistproblems so you have made a grave in the garden .The problem is everygrave uses up on square of your parcel so you get some real spaceproblems after a few generations and you will have to move .

Prometheus, i really hope you are thinking about doing this, the only thing that might be a draw back for you, is that there are age generations in the game, so your panty females might have to start off as little babies, but i think you can basiclly skip all that if you don't stray too far from the norm...

you can probably just do Adult> Elder, so people could only have the choice to use this as an adult, which is fine... cause you need at least one adult to have a household work.

Yeah it's awesome I'm addicted. My romance Sim always wants to WooHoo and WooHoo in public. It's hilarious. I wonder if they'll make a bunch of expensive patches for this one that would suck :(

An article/thread on slashdot (http://games.slashdot.org/games/04/09/20/0416251.shtml?tid=206), a price of around 70usd makes me reluctant to purchase it.

The editor link on the sims 2 page is still dead >:|

My mudokon sim, Phil. He's sloppy, and flails his limbs around when he dances, but everybody loves him. :)
