memories from my childhood.

A study of this character, known in France as "Albator" for a special project.

nice work aleksi ! love this ancient pirate feeling to Albator... maybe he needs a little bit of something more mysterious, but very nice stuff... what kind of project is it for?

very cool, my father brought back a action man toy( the big huge ones, not those crappy small no joint ones) back in the 80s, i had no idea who he was but it was so cool and different to anything that was available at home and he could talk, still have it to this day in perfect working order. why oh why cant they make things like that anymore.

cool image you have that hero in emotional turmoil, i have to sort it out later , revenge comes first look dead on.:}

That is pretty fuckin cool... I love how you did all the cross hatching on the cloak, pants, etc. very well done and tight all around. I also wanted to touch on something that nobody else seems to have commented on yet: the background. I love how you did it with the sketchy hatching and then erased to get the shining lens flair effect, and then the writing going around, reminds me of LOTR. Also the tiny bit of color on the skull really adds to the piece. Great job over all, let's see more!

Love the character and that sepia sketched mood. Big up Alexis, as usual.

Albator... Le corsaire de l'espace... :blahblah:
Great now I have the song stuck in my head !.. He seems younger then what I can remember of the cartoon. Prequel ?

By the way, did anyone saw that montage between Albator (or Harlock as you please) and Star Wars ? Dang that was nice.

Matt Smith : it's only pencils with little use of photoshop fot the color background and the few highlights.

Manu is malin : Can't talk more about this project.

Phrozac : Yeah, I made a mistake with his name, shame on me :)
But Herlock is also the name used by Matsumoto himself.

Egerie : This is just a study. i'll do some different try with him, maybe older...
I didn't see the montage you are talking about. Any link ?

Haha Harlock, it was great back in the days.
Great pic, the rendering is really good, and the gold accent is just right.
