I think I am going to call this one done.

I think it turned out okay even though there might be a couple things I am not completely happy with. Those are:

1) The staff. I don't think I am completely happy with how it looks, and..

2) It could be said that if you covered up one half of the image and then the other half you have two completely different styles going on that dont exactly mesh. That is, I am not sure how well the Elf and her Elemental go together. I don't know if they fit together as well as I'd hope they would. Sometimes I don't like it, sometimes I don't mind as much. Individually, I am happy with them I guess.

It has also been pointed out that the Elf looks a bit harsh and/or mean. I don't really mind it so much but I can see what people mean when they say that.

Anyway, done in Illustrator...

I first want to say Hats off to you for doing these in Illustrator.

My only crits are the Background is bland,, it needs some more contrast to it...

2nd,,,, The head on the Magician looks to big,, I first I though
she was a miget....

Other than that,,,, Looks pretty tight!!!!

I can see what you mean about the background. I did want it to be fairly simple.. but maybe it's a bit too simple? I did increase the darkness of the shadows and I think it helped some. Maybe I'll change their direction on the background slightly too.

I don't agree with you about the size of the head. I am a bit bothered by her right arm though and maybe that is what is throwing the proportions out of whack. The her right arm is meant to have some forshortening going on but it may be coming across as being a bit stubby.. I don't know.

Maybe I'll play with this a bit more.. I am not sure though. I have a new idea that I really want to develop. Funny thing is, Odin (from Norse mythology) will surely be in my next image. I have been thinking of Ragnarok a lot these last few weeks and am going to try and tackle it. It'll take me a while to do.. but I am up for the challenge.

oooh, high elf mage with mage epic =). i see you're an EQer. I used to play a long time ago.

I agree with odin six about the head size, but you might also wanna round off her jaw a bit. Right now it looks a little bit hard and manly. I like what you have going so far though :D

Well.. outvoted on the head size :)

Yeah, this is for my wife. She is still playing EQ (although her new game is Dragon Warrior VII..) and asked me to draw this for her. I used to play EQ too (wizard) but haven't really played much for a couple years. Log on occassionally, but not too often. She won't let me delete my character though because he is good for tranporting them around ;)

Glad you like...

Edit: Thought I'd put this up too... what the hell...

This is my wizard.

Cool Beans Man.......

I am Honnored that you would make a Project of ME!!!!:D

Are going to include his Horse and his Valkyrie lieutenants ???

I don't know that it'll have the Valkyrie.. but maybe his horse. I was going to have him battle Fenrir on foot but now that you mention his mount I remember how much I liked that creature.

I'm planning on making a pretty big scene. It'll also have Thor and Jormungand, Heimdall, dwarves, Loki, Giants.. and I also want to incorporate the world tree and the bones of the world somehow. Got to get cracking on the composition.. maybe I'll have some sketches worked up in the next few days...

Yeah, I've always loved that stuff. And, for some reason, I keep thinking about it so I've got to do something with the idea to put my mind at ease :D

Nice, oglzogl...the shadows in the back brought some depth to the piece...I like that some blue from the "spell" on the right is also reflected in the elf...

The head's size...hmm...i mean, it depends on your idea, how realistic it should look like...i have no problems here :)

The only thing that bothers me is the shape of hair...maybe you should loose it a little...so that it looks more fluutering...here a few examples what i am talking about:

edit: deleted! :D

I just quickly searched in images.google...i'll delete this pics after you've seen them...because they are not mine :D

Thanks Fozzy.. I am, for the most part, happy with how this turned out.

I see what you about the hair.. although I kind of like the way it is too. It is very stylized and I kind of like that. Maybe it wouldn't hurt to add a few whisps though.

I kind of liked how the blue was reflected on the woman as well. I am really happy with the lighting. I've been thinking that it may be nice to have the back wall pick up some of the blue too...

i can't see anything that no one else has mentioned, but i think it's pretty cool.

kind of something i'd illustrated in a magazine.. one of those ones that has the shiney paper.

ok...you're the master oglzogl :)

Did you add the stars and crackles? I didn't see them at first...

Naw.. just the master of my domain :)

(ahh.. dumb joke..)

I've had the sparkles on there for a couple days and the cracks have been there for a little bit too. I think that deepening the shadow kind of helped bring them out though.. maybe?
