Hi all,

This is my first post on this forum. It is my first matte painting done in Photoshop 7.0. It took me about a day all in and i am very pleased with the outcome. You will find the image here:

nice man. i really dont know how matte paintings are made, but your looks like if it were a 3d render. Is the spaceship painted too or is it a 3d render?

greetings!

:) It was actually The millenium falcon flown in Flight Sim 2004, i simply took a screenshot at the correct angle and then added it to the matte, obviously i had to do some work changing the colour balance and adding shadow etc.

The picture looks great, but to tell you the truth, the ship brings it down a load.

the ship is the wrong color. Also the concept of a matte painting is to have a a section that looks completely realistic that is layed over motion film. You are not leaving any place for motion shots.
